Ingredients

  • 4 tsp loose black tea
  • 2 cups freshly boiled water
  • 6 fresh mint leaves, lightly crushed
  • Ice cubes
  • Sugar, to taste
  • 2 lemon slices

Method

  1. Steep the tea in the boiled water for 5 minutes. This brew is double strength because the ice will dilute it.
  2. Put three crushed mint leaves in each tall glass and fill the glasses one-third full with ice.
  3. Strain the hot tea straight over the ice so it chills quickly. Sweeten to taste and finish with a slice of lemon.

Chilling the tea quickly over ice keeps it clear and fresh-tasting.
