Ingredients

  • 2¼ cups (560 ml / 19 oz) water, warm or room temperature
  • 2¾ cups (650 ml / 625 g / 1.38 lb) white granulated sugar
  • 1 oz (30 ml / 28 g) orange juice concentrate or orange syrup
  • Carbonated water, as needed

Method

  1. Combine the water and sugar in a 2-quart or larger saucepan.
  2. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves into a syrup, then remove from the heat.
  3. Stir the orange juice concentrate into the syrup.
  4. Using a funnel, transfer the syrup to an empty bottle and let it cool.
  5. To make the finished syrup, mix one volume of syrup with one volume of carbonated water.
