Ingredients
- 3 tsp loose black tea
- 2 cups freshly boiled water
- 6 whole cloves
- Sugar, to taste
Method
- Warm a china or ceramic teapot by swirling a little hot water in it, then pour that water out.
- Put the tea leaves in the pot, pour over the freshly boiled water and leave to steep for about 5 minutes.
- Drop three cloves into each cup, strain the tea over them and sweeten to taste.
Steep the leaves only once. A second steeping just makes the tea bitter.
