Ingredients

  • 85 g finely ground coffee (about 1 cup)
  • 700 ml boiling water (3 cups)
  • Sugar cubes, optional

Method

  1. Brew the coffee as for pour-over coffee, using half the usual amount of water to make a strong, concentrated cup.
  2. Serve black in small demitasse cups, with sugar cubes on the side if you like.

Café noir is served without milk or cream.
